Rodeo Weekend

This weekend was the South Douglas Rodeo. Wyatt decided that he really wanted to ride a calf this year. I gave in and signed him up. While we went to sign him up, Brailee decided that she wanted to ride a sheep. There was a last minute cancellation and she was able to ride. She was so excited! As the time got closer to ride, Brailee was unable to sit still. She just wanted to get out there and ride! Wyatt, who is a little more on the shy side, seemed calm and collected. We headed over to the chutes and Brailee couldn't hold in her excitement. As Wyatt and Jason walked over to the calf chutes, Wyatt got to see the calf for the first time that he would be riding. He kept it together right up until that calf was rearing up and trying to jump outta the chute and foaming at the mouth and unable to sit still. Wyatt was scared to death. First of all, the calf was HUGE. MEAN and uncontrollable. As I had to leave because I was scared to death, Wyatt was starting to get upset. I put my foot down and said "NO!" No way was I gonna let my 7 year old on that calf. So needless to say Wyatt didn't ride, although he was really upset, I felt so relieved! "There is always next time" I told him. Meanwhile, it is Brailee's turn at the sheep. She never even flinched. Jason put her on its back and she rode like it was nothing. She rode the farthest! She did awesome but another little boy apparently rode longer, so she got 2nd. She did end up with some bumps and bruises but all in all she rode like a champ!

Brailee's Preschool Graduation

Brailee graduated from Lyttle Tike's preschool. Although she will be in preschool 1 more year I wanted her to be with her class that she had been with all year, and so they could have her participate in seeing them off to kindergarten. It was a good ceremony and so cute! Teacher Penny is an amazing woman and she always goes above and beyond. Brailee will attend her preschool again next year.

They wore little caps and gowns and released butterflies. They song some really cute songs and not one of us left dry eyed!

Memorial Day Weekend 2008

Jason, the kids and myself went camping for the weekend. We stayed in Charleston and camped at Bastendorf park. This was the first official camping trip that we have taken as a family. We pitched the tent and stayed for the weekend. As it was miserable weather when we left.. the coast was beautiful. Sunny skies and warm. We had a blast.

We crabbed off the docks, climbed out on the jetty, looked at tide pools, and hiked up to a cave. There was plenty to do and the weather cooperated. It was so nice, I actually got sunburned! The crabbing didn't go so well. The kids didn't have the patience to wait for the pots to soak. So we were constantly pulling up empty pots. Also ,being on the dock was frightening for me. I was a nervous wreck I could just see one of the barreling off the side into the bay.

On Sunday, my best friend, Jessica, and her family came over and stayed the night. We played on the beach, sat around the campfire and had some drinks and the kids played. We had a blast! This was the first trip that Jessica and I have taken together with our families.

As for our hike on the jetty, the kids enjoyed it so much. I on the other hand am out of shape and it took me a bit to keep up. Well, I was the one taking the pictures too! All in all we had a magnificent weekend outing together and hopefully can do it again soon

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was a day that I enjoyed spending with my husband and my kids on a trip to the coast. We hadn't been to the coast in so long. The weather was beautiful and the kids enjoyed the beach. I enjoyed watching the kids play in the water and most of all looking for sea shells. We had the best time.

The one thing that scares me is that they have no fear of the water. While I on the other hand am paranoid of the deep ocean water, and am constantly hollering at them to stay back. They get frustrated with me to say the least but all in all we had the best day and hopefully can do it again soon.

Both Kimberly and Wyatt found buoys on the beach and I found a whole sand dollar. We came home through the mountain roads (thanks to Jason being a log truck driver) and found some falls that were amazing. It was a good family day and so much fun!

Girls will be girls

SILLY GIRLS......

My best friend and I took our girls to the park for some pictures. After all they were born 4 months apart and are bestest buddies. So Jessica and I geared them up and headed out.

After many poses and 2 little hams... we got some really cute pictures. The weather was nice and the park was a hit with the girls. Jessica and I can only watch as these 2 monsters grow in to little girls. They act like they are 16 most of the time. But moms know better!

The love each other

SO CUTE

In the end, I say that we had a pretty fun filed day. We got the well needed pictures of our baby girls together and as they played we got to catch up. Jessica and I have been friends for more than 20 years and hope that our girls will someday be able to say the same. This is the first picture that we have taken together since grade school. She is my BEST friend.

A ride to remember

Looking all studly!

As I zipped up the last zipper, and put his helmet on.... he was off like the wind. My dad and Wyatt were off on a Harley ride that would cause me to bite every nail I had off. They were going to ride to Tiller and have lunch. My dad had taken Wyatt for little rides here and there but never one of this caliber.

Although Wyatt was fully armed in all of his leathers, I still thought that I was going to get sick. The thought of my Bubba on the back of a Harley for such a long trip, made me nervous. The roads to Tiller are winding and run right beside the river. As my dad assured me that Wyatt does awesome on the back of the hog, I still was leary.

Wyatt had waited for this day for a long time. The day he got to prove to his mom that he WAS a big boy. He thought he was such a stud! I have to admit it he was pretty darn cute! It was a perfect spring day. He was so excited he could hardly sit still. As soon as Grandpa gave him the ok, he was on the bike and off he went, with the biggest grin ever!

Family Snow Day

We have had a lot of snow this year. I don't remember having these many days of snow in quite a few years. The kids always dress warm and go and play in the little bit that sticks on the valley floor, but this year we decided to take a day and go to the mountains and play. After all 2 feet is so much funner than 2 inches! Brailee had never been to play in the deep snow so this was quite the adventure for her. We went out South Myrtle and headed towards red top.
We even chained up so we could make it farther up the hill.
The view was breathtaking and the kids were so excited. Just to see the looks on their little faces was priceless. The colder they were the happier they got!

They bundled up and jumped out of the truck with not a fear in mind. *Brailee...Feet First!*

* Bubba feelin' a bit cold.... *

*Kimberly, just chillin' *

All in a days work.....
