Oh What a Drive....

The Kids at Watson Falls.

South Umpqua Falls
We took a drive out to the South Umpqua Falls on Sunday. The kids had never been to the falls and it had been so long since Jason and I had gone. I figured the falls would be flowing nicely since it had been raining and there had been some snow fall. It was beautiful and it was such a beautiful Fall day. Blue skies and sun shining. I took the opportunity to take a few pictures of the kids. After the falls we continued to drive out past the falls and through the mountains, were we ended up on HWY 138 east out by Lemola Lake. It was an amazing drive. We hit some snow and ran into some hunters. Such a wonderful day to spend with the family in the mountains.

The kids enjoyed the drive. Probably gonna be the last drive before Christmas. We will be busy with the holidays and I have been working some extra shifts to make some extra money for the holidays. LOL Anyways I would like to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving, a Very Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Year!

In other news... My close friend Melissa and her husband Neal will be welcoming a little girl into the world in April of 2009. Congratulations you guys. They are amazing people and wonderful parents already to Ella who is 2 now. I would also like to extend my deepest sympathy to my brother Tommy and his wife Kaci, as they received devastating news last week. The baby that they would be welcoming into the world in May of 2009... they miscarried. It was gods way of protecting them and the baby but not the easiest way because we were all so excited. But they can attempt again in the future, and I am praying that they will. I am so sorry and wish them all the luck in the future.

Pumkin Carving and Halloween

Well I hope everyone is settling in with the season of Fall. I know I am. I love Fall and all the colors. Fall is my favorite time of the year.
The kids had a really good Halloween. We spent the weekend before Halloween at my Best Friends house carving pumpkins and having a little socialization! Jessica just had back surgery a few weeks ago and cant get out much yet so we hung out over there and let the kids carve all the pumpkins.

On Halloween night we headed out to Myrtle Creek to trick or treat Main Street and hit some friends and relatives houses. The night was wonderful and the kids had a blast. They got so much candy we will have enough for next year! LOL I leave you with a few Halloween pictures.

Its been awhile...

Well, sorry that I haven't posted in so long. Things are finally situated and in place at our new home and we are loving every minute of it. We have just finished fencing the bigger field for the kids' horse ~ Dolly ~ and for my horse ~Carmel ~ A nurse at work gave me a 11 year Quarter Horse a few weeks back because she didn't have time for her anymore. So I have been pretty busy riding her and realizing how much I missed riding horses.

We have added a new face to our family. His name is "JAKE" and he is our new "WATCH DOG"!!! LOL He is a 3 month old lab/heeler mix and he is so cute and loves the kids and all our space. HE is a great addition.

The kids are loving the school in Tiller, and Brailee has returned to preschool with Teacher Penny. They are all getting into the swing of our crazy schedules. I am still working the NOC shift at the hospital and Jason is still hauling those logs.
ON Sunday my brother, Tommy, and sister in law, Kaci stoped by to give me a gift. What I opened was a baby bib that said I love my Auntie. I am so excited and happy for tem. She is due in May. Congrats to them on the conception of their first child and the beginning of their path down parenthood.

Well that sums it all up for us, we hope all are well and I leave you with a few randoms pics.

Happy Halloween to you all.

Our new home

Our front yard and HUGE porch

Well on August 8th 2008 we moved. We moved to a bigger house with more property. We now live on 15 acres and have a 4 bedroom 2 bath mobile home in Days Creek Oregon. It is so pretty and very peaceful. We have a year round creek that runs through our property at the base of our mountain behind us. The kids are excited to have their own rooms and I am excited to have my own bathroom! LOL We have a beautiful HUGE porch and beautiful views. No neighbors and surrounded by pastures. For those of you who know my husband, you know that this is his heaven. We love it and couldn't be happier. The kids are excited for the move and the new school. Believe it or not they have more opportunity here as far as 4H and FFA. I graduated from Days Creek High with a total of 18 in my graduating class. Its an amazing little town and great schools. We are now settled in and loving life!

Daddy's new log truck

Jason got a new log truck on Friday and he brought it home so we could wash it up. Wyatt and Brailee were so excited. It was like christmas or something around here!
After the two climbed all over it and got all of the excitement out we finally got to business and washed it and fixed a few minor things.

A family day

Since Kimberly has been so sick and unable to do much this summer, we decided to take a trip to Diamond Lake, Crater Lake and a few waterfalls. Jason and I have never been to Diamond Lake so we stopped there first. It was a busy place and full of mosquito's! We ate lunch at the lodge and headed to Crater Lake. The last time Jason and I went there was before we had kids. The kids loved it and the whole history behind it fascinated them. We then went on and headed home stopping by a few waterfalls ~Clearwater Falls, Whitehorse Falls, Toketee Falls~. We had a nice relaxing day and Kimberly was able to participate in ALL of the activities. Besides all mosquito bites, we had a blast and hopefully will do it again soon. I am ending with a few pictures of our trip. LOVE TO ALL

Kimberly's stay in the hospital

As previously blogged, Kimberly has been really sick. She has been battling mono. We are 3 1/2 weeks since her first fever. With mono you need to let it just run its course. Well on Wednesday July 2 when we woke up she was worse than ever! She hadn't eaten in a week and a half and she had stopped basically stopped drinking. So I took her to the doctor. On the way to the doctor I noticed that she was so yellow. The doctor sent us to hospital to be admitted. After we finally got to the floor, we were in room 234, she had already received 2 bags of fluid and started perking up a little it but her urine still looked like PEPSI! So we spent to agonizing nights in the hospital. She did very well with all that was happening. Even the THREE times they had to poke her to get the IV started. She progressed greatly and we were released on the 4th of July! Thank god! Her liver numbers are still not normal so she is still yellow but that will take time. We will follow up wit Dr. Segal and have a ultrasound in a few weeks just to make sure that her spleen and liver are returning to normal size. As for her she is still limited to activity and she is still prone to infection because mono screws with your immune system. But we will be able to enjoy fireworks as a family and hope fully continue on the road to recovery! Thanks to all who prayed for her and to all who took time from their busy schedules to stop by and visit her. It means so much to all of us!

Kimberly is sooo sick....

So our summer has been pretty boring so far. The weather is getting hotter by he day and we still our confined to our house because Kimberly is so sick. She has been battling Mono now for almost 3 weeks. She has done nothing but sleep and run HIGH fevers. Now that we are in our 3rd week she has become sick to her tummy and extremely lethargic. We spent the day receiving IV fluids on Monday and she was a trooper. I just wish that she would start feeling better so she could enjoy her summer break.
Pretty much her home has been on the couch. She sleeps so much. I just wish that I could take all her pain and sickness away. Its gonna be a long, boring summer for her!

A day in the pool

This year we decided to buy a bigger pool. The kids have always had a swimming pool but has always been a "kiddy" pool. Since we rent we are limited to the size we can have, so this is the biggest we can go. Which is big enough for our family. The kids love it and are in it all day if I let them. Kimberly has been limited since we st found out that she has mono. But I let here cool down here and there since it is so stinkin hot this week.

Rodeo Weekend

This weekend was the South Douglas Rodeo. Wyatt decided that he really wanted to ride a calf this year. I gave in and signed him up. While we went to sign him up, Brailee decided that she wanted to ride a sheep. There was a last minute cancellation and she was able to ride. She was so excited! As the time got closer to ride, Brailee was unable to sit still. She just wanted to get out there and ride! Wyatt, who is a little more on the shy side, seemed calm and collected. We headed over to the chutes and Brailee couldn't hold in her excitement. As Wyatt and Jason walked over to the calf chutes, Wyatt got to see the calf for the first time that he would be riding. He kept it together right up until that calf was rearing up and trying to jump outta the chute and foaming at the mouth and unable to sit still. Wyatt was scared to death. First of all, the calf was HUGE. MEAN and uncontrollable. As I had to leave because I was scared to death, Wyatt was starting to get upset. I put my foot down and said "NO!" No way was I gonna let my 7 year old on that calf. So needless to say Wyatt didn't ride, although he was really upset, I felt so relieved! "There is always next time" I told him. Meanwhile, it is Brailee's turn at the sheep. She never even flinched. Jason put her on its back and she rode like it was nothing. She rode the farthest! She did awesome but another little boy apparently rode longer, so she got 2nd. She did end up with some bumps and bruises but all in all she rode like a champ!

Brailee's Preschool Graduation

Brailee graduated from Lyttle Tike's preschool. Although she will be in preschool 1 more year I wanted her to be with her class that she had been with all year, and so they could have her participate in seeing them off to kindergarten. It was a good ceremony and so cute! Teacher Penny is an amazing woman and she always goes above and beyond. Brailee will attend her preschool again next year.

They wore little caps and gowns and released butterflies. They song some really cute songs and not one of us left dry eyed!
