Jason, the kids and myself went camping for the weekend. We stayed in Charleston and camped at Bastendorf park. This was the first official camping trip that we have taken as a family. We pitched the tent and stayed for the weekend. As it was miserable weather when we left.. the coast was beautiful. Sunny skies and warm. We had a blast. 
We crabbed off the docks, climbed out on the jetty, looked at tide pools, and hiked up to a cave. There was plenty to do and the weather cooperated. It was so nice, I actually got sunburned! The crabbing didn't go so well. The kids didn't have the patience to wait for the pots to soak. So we were constantly pulling up empty pots. Also ,being on the dock was frightening for me. I was a nervous wreck I could just see one of the barreling off the side into the bay.
On Sunday, my best friend, Jessica, and her family came over and stayed the night. We played on the beach, sat around the campfire and had some drinks and the kids played. We had a blast! This was the first trip that Jessica and I have taken together with our families.
As for our hike on the jetty, the kids enjoyed it so much. I on the other hand am out of shape and it took me a bit to keep up. Well, I was the one taking the pictures too! All in all we had a magnificent weekend outing together and hopefully can do it again soon
